For most of our visits to Praia da Luz we have stayed at the Mayer Luz Apartments which are about 70 metres from the beach.  The apartments are exclusive to First Choice and have excellent facilities including a large swimming pool and a bar.

This shot of the Mayer Luz Apartments was taken in 1995 from the edge of the road adjacent to the beach.  It shows the close proximity of the apartments to the beach itself.  The pool is just beyond the wall at the front of the picture.  Compare this with the picture below taken in 2001 and kindly contributed by Caroline at the Bar Habana.

These pictures were taken at the rear of the apartments showing (on the left) the view towards the bar and the entrance to the swimming pool and (on the right) the view from the bar back towards the entrance to the apartments.
